Too many people think that sensory issues are a sidebar to autism--an issue far less important than the behaviours concerns or the social challenges that their autistic child is experiencing.  What if you knew that up to 90% of children wiht ASD have sensory and/or motor differences that are the cause of, or are adding to, the behaviours and emotional responses that you are seeing?  Here is what we have learned:  if professionals are determining causes of social and behaviour challenges without knowing the sensory profile of the child, it is almost always a carp shoot--a full-on guess.  If you want to enhance your understanding of yur autistic child and provide respectful, more relevant supports, so get a sensory assessment.  To find out more, check out some of our articles.
